Nonprofit Forum: Becoming a Visionary Organization

The Bush School Program in Nonprofit Management will present a forum for local nonprofits in partnership with the Brazos Community Foundation, United Way of the Brazos Valley, Arts Council of the Brazos Valley, and the Bryan/College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau. The event will include a keynote address, panels with local academics and practitioners, as well as lunch and a presentation by Bush School students. Brazos Community Foundation Reaches $1,000,000 in Assets

 

After only four years of operations, the Brazos Community Foundation has accomplished a major milestone by reaching $1,000,000 in assets.  The Community Foundation was founded in 2003 by Sam Sharp, Larry Holt and Charles Ellison with only $10,000 in assets.  Today, the Foundation has more than 50 funds that will benefit Brazos Valley non-profit organizations s and individuals. Through the establishment of endowment funds, the Brazos Community Foundation helps charitably-minded individuals and organizations provide for the perpetual support of the charities and causes they care about in the Brazos Valley.

The Foundation is governed by a fifteen-member Board of Trustees, chaired by Larry Holt.  Current trustees are Nancy Berry, Charles Ellison, Jerry Fox, Celia Goode-Haddock, Jeff Harris, Larry Hodges, Larry Holt, Paula House, Kenneth Loke, Carol McFaddin, Mary Kaye Moore, Janie McDougal, Wade Neyland, Reba Ragsdale and Sam Sharp.  Tiffani McKinney is the Executive Director.

Brazos Community Foundation

NAMES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

            Bryan-College Station, Texas.  The Brazos Community Foundation has named Tiffani Drake McKinney, as their first full-time President/Executive Director. 

Established in 2003, the Brazos Community Foundation is a nonprofit, community corporation created by and for the people of the Brazos Valley.  The Brazos Community Foundation primarily serves the seven county region including Brazos, Robertson, Washington, Grimes, Burleson, Leon and Madison counties.  Community foundations offer donors many services and benefits. They routinely work with families, individuals, attorneys and estate and financial planners to design gift plans that fit every economic situation, ensuring that donors receive the most benefit from their charitable contributions and that their philanthropic dollars are used to the fullest extent.

In her role as President, Tiffani will lead the Foundations programs and create strategies to enhance their community area leadership roles, strengthen their sustainability, and advance best practices.  She will also be responsible for cultivating donor relationships to fulfill the areas needs.  It is a great honor and blessing to be the President of the Brazos Community Foundation, I am looking forward to matching people who care with causes that matter, stated Tiffani upon being hired.

            Her goals for the Brazos Community Foundation are simple, To build an organization that serves the needs of the entire Brazos Valley.  For Good. For Ever.  She believes that no one of us can do alone, what we all can do together.
